Central station = shopping temple
Riga Central Station building from it's lateral entrance. Central station is originally built in 1960, but reconstructed in 2003. After the reconstruction it's very commercialized, housing supermarket, 220 shops, as well as many cafes and restaurants - every day it's visited by ~150 000 people (about 50 million per year - absolute number 1 in Latvia), only small part of them goes to trains. In the picture you see also the Station's clock, that shows how long the daylight in Latvia is now - it's getting dark in about 6 PM. After a month we will switch to our summer time - will set a clock ahead 1 hour, thus making even longer daylight time in evenings.
