To winter in a tent
Can you imagine yourself living in a tent in winter, 24 hours a day and several months in turn? 9 people have done it right in the centre of Riga since November 30 last year (and this winter has been extremely cold and long with temperatures constantly below zero and sometimes dropping as low as minus 27). No, they're not some crazy extremists who do it for fun - they're people who are in despair of economical (and probably also political) situation in Latvia and who believes they can change something with such a shocking protest action. Some of them was forced to interrupt their tent living and go to the hospital to cure pneumonia, but later they returned again. They have built those tents right opposite to government's (Cabinet of Ministers) building (it's the grey building on the left side of 1st picture), asking for immediate solution to unemployment problem. They've wrote their demands and opinions on those sheets which are flaunting in the wind in 2nd picture. The big red slogan in the 1st picture means: "Power is within people!"
