Old Town "gates"
Riga's Old Town is very ecclectic in terms of architecture - it's outer "shell" consists of 1st half of 20th Century buildings, while more deeper you can find medieval architecture with the oldest buildings almost as old as Riga itself, 800 years. Here the left one, a famous Art Nouveau building with Atlants figures holding the globe. Now it houses Italian embassy.

I have walked by that building so many times, and I have seen pictures of those 3 with the globe so many times, but I have never noticed that that is where they are... I should start to pay more attention to the rooftops also in what I can allmost call my second homr town... Fantastic blog, keep up the good work!!! -Norway
