Daily Photo Theme: Public Transport 2 - Trams
Riga has 9 tram lines in total - and tram system is currently developing with new low-floor trams introduction in the city. There are already several new trams running on Riga streets but I haven't neither photographed nor even saw them in real life.
One of main streets in Riga centre where trams run is Barona street (first picture). In the second pic you see tram going around corner of Old Town, on 13th January street. In 3rd picture - other type of old Tatra trams in Riga, this one is more capacious. You can also see that trams unlike trolleybuses and buses are sometimes painted very differently not in official blue/white colours of Riga PT - because of the advertisements. I don't have a clue why advertisements are put exactly on trams but not on buses or trolleybuses. On the 4th picture there is s tram on it's way on Slokas street from Imanta or Iļģuciems neighbourhood to city centre.

I just love those trams. Something special about them that a bus cannot emulate.
