Saeima
Latvia's parliament building - as in every country, one of the most important buildings. So important, that 2 years ago, on 13th January 2009, a crowd of angry people after massive political protest tried to sturm the building, almost knocked out it's doors and after then did completely senseless rioting in Riga's Old Town. I was an eye-witness at parliament, and I felt the aggressive energy wave of the crowd - actually it started to provoke even me, but thank God I had enough mind to not engage in. But I was also very angry to the ruling clique - for it's corruptive and arrogant way of leading the country which was also one of the main factors leading Latvia to it's poverty.
Parliament in Latvia is called "Saeima". This building is originally built in 1863 as the house of Knighthood. It's trying to resemble Florence's Renaissance palace forms in it's Eclecticism style.
