My favorite building pt.2
As I promised yesterday, today views of one of my favorite Riga buildings from other side. It's amazing how the building changes it's appearance from different sides. It's complexity, difficult geometrical structure, and at the same time incredible cosyness - in overall it makes it a masterpiece, imo. Zane Kalinka and Vita Rauhvargere - 2 architects-womans who did this job, all my respect. Buildings were finished in 1987, and it's interesting, right next to them are new Metropolia apartment highrises designed by the same architecht (Zane Kalinka), but they are much much less interesting... So capitalism even more than socialism kills the free creative nature of architect's mind.
