Also commieblock areas looks much nicer in spring. Here one typical 9-floor white block building in Imanta neighbourhood, which is making harmony between it's green balconies and green tree in front of the building. Riga commieblock districts has good advantage for nature lovers - they're greened.

@Chrissy - actually communist party members and other top-nomenclature people according to my knowlegde got appartments in a bit better buildings - special projects, highrises. These "standard blocks" were for common people(well, but mostly for immigrants from Russia SSR, not Latvians).
