The Cathedral reconstruction

Largest medieval church in Baltic states - Riga Dom church (Cathedral) - reconstruction works is on full scale. Dom church will get reconstructed facade, new roof made of copper and a few restored inner rooms. Dom church reconstruction is very needed - the cathedral is included in the list of 100 World's most endangered monuments by World Monuments Fund (see here).

Yesterday when I passed by there I thought that such works will last very long (as reconstructions of large historical buildings usually do) but actually these works will be done after a year - in November 2012. Btw, this year Dom church celebrated it's 800th anniversary.
