Bābelītis lake | Bābelīša ezers
Bābelītis lake is a small, scenic lake which is surrounded by pine forest, located in Eastern part of Riga, next to Jugla living district. People from closest neighbourhoods come to relax here, plays beach volleyball, grills barbecue, sunbathes and doing other nice things... Bābelītis is also one of few official bathing-places in Riga although this sign (which is turned upside down though) indicates: "Forbidden to swim!". It is probably left there since 2006, when there were feces pollution recognized and was recommended not to swim there. Why are signs still there? Probably because of municipality's negligence.
