Beach in the city centre

Riga has set up a beach in almost the very centre of the city - in the bank of Ķīpsala island, in a place where year ago one could have seen a huge "sand hill". Now there are 2 volleyball fields, dressing cabins, few benches. There is not recommended to swim, but for sunbathing and sport activities this urban beach is OK. For swimming, one have to go 15-20 kilometres further to Northern direction, to one of Riga seaside beaches or neighbouring resort town Jūrmala. [full_width]
