Tērbatas biznesa centrs - Tērbatas iela 30, Lāčplēša iela 20a

"Tērbata business center" is two modern office buildings on the crossing of Tērbatas and Lāčplēša streets. As it may look like it is a one project, designed by one of the most influential Riga architects of last 40 years - Zane Kalinka (together with Juris Lauris). The buildings got Riga city's special prize as the best in Riga new architecture in 2005. The project for the buildings has been designed already at 1999, and Kalinka has expressed a bit of regret - it could have used more modern technologies in 2005 when it was finally built. With a naked eye, they look modern enough (to me). In the next posts, I will present both of the buildings separately.

"Tērbatas biznesa centrs" ir divas mūsdienu arhitektūras biroju celtnes pie Tērbatas un Lāčplēša ielu krustojuma. Kā jau varētu domāt, tās abas ir viens projekts, kura autore ir viena no pēdējo 40 gadu ietekmīgākajām Rīgas arhitektēm Zane Kalinka (šajā projektā kopā ar Juri Lauri). Ēkas ieguva Rīgas domes specbalvu "Labākais Rīgas arhitektūrā" 2005. gadā. Pats ēku projekts ticis izstrādāts jau 1999. gadā, un Kalinka paudusi nožēlu, ka ēkas celtniecībā netika izmantotas pašas jaunākās tehnoloģijas.
