Čaka street bicycle lane
Čaka street bicycle lane. Recently elected new municipal government has promised to turn Riga into modern European metropolis - and it has started with upgrading the city's poor bicycle road network. The new (currently called - "experimental") bicycle lane on Aleksandra Čaka street has provoked a heated discussions between car drivers and bicyclists (car drivers thinks that it's to blame for the traffic jams on the street). I drove through the lane on Friday (13th November) afternoon, there was no any problems with traffic at that time. See the full video of commuting here from bicyclist's perspective (about 2,2 km long ride from Marijas to Pērnavas streets):

Sounds like great news about the new bike lanes, not so fun with the complaning motorists.
